The violent beating of Tyre Nichols by five Memphis police officers, which was caught on video and released in January, is still making waves across the country. Three days later, the 29-year-old man died, and the five police officers have since been fired and charged with murder. Three days after the video of the beating was shown to the public, a seventh officer was suspended because of the arrest. There will be consequences for a seventh police officer and some firefighters.

The Memphis Police Department said late Monday that Preston Hemphill, the sixth officer to be linked to Nichols’ death, and a seventh officer whose name was not given were both fired.
